PLANETDO.COM PRIVACY POLICY

—OR—

How We’re Just As Hung Up On Our Internet Privacy As You Are On Yours

Our Commitment to Privacy

The privacy of you, our “Doers,” is very important to us. But for PlanetDo.com to provide you with more than a snazzy logo on a blank page, we must collect and use some information about you. This privacy policy explains what type of information we collect and what we do with that information to allow you to make choices about the way your information is collected and used. By using or accessing PlanetDo.com, you agree to our privacy practices outlined here and our Terms of Use Agreement.

Date of Last Revision

Our privacy policy is regularly updated to reflect the changing nature of our business and the Internet, so please check back often. (You know how much fun this is.) The most recent update to our Privacy Policy was on September 17, 2010.

Questions, Concerns, Complaints, Compliments

If you or someone you love has any questions, concerns, complaints, or compliments about our privacy policy, or wishes to simply say thank you, please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . (While our Lawyers tolerate constructive criticism and invite questions, they also simply love to get a good “attaboy”). You may also contact us by snail mail at 4120 Chicago Drive SW, Suite 4, Grandville, Michigan 49418. (If you go to the trouble of mailing something, please feel free to get one of those greeting cards that plays music. Our lawyers love that.)

Coverage

Our privacy policy applies only to PlanetDo.com and excludes entities or websites that we do not own or control, such as third-party sites of our Doers and/or advertisers. We will let you know when you are leaving our site, usually by opening the link in a new window. We do not control the collection or use of your information by these companies. You should contact these companies directly if you have any questions about their collection or use of information about you.

Personal Information

When you register with PlanetDo.com, we collect certain personal information about you, such as your name, email, gender, and birth date. There are various other opportunities to provide more information about yourself, which we believe may enhance your PlanetDo.com experience and that of other Doers. (Note that an enhancement could be good or bad, so be careful what information you share.) The information we collect comprises an ever-evolving list, but includes things like activities you enjoy, places where you have done certain outdoor activities, ratings for certain equipment and vendors, and random information about your school, your job, your hometown, pictures or videos of yourself and others, etc. You choose which parts of your Doer page your friends or others can see. You will also have a choice whether to add any new sharing option we may add in future. While you will have the opportunity to modify your personal information at any time to add or remove tidbits about yourself, you should remember that once you put something out there for all to see, you cannot take it back. You should not consider anything you share with any third-party through PlanetDo.com to be private, as any person you share your information with could choose to repost or rebroadcast your videos, pictures, posts or other information without your consent (i.e., there are evil-Doers amongst us, so be safe and careful about what you choose to share and who you choose to share it with). If you no longer want to share something through PlanetDo.com, you can remove the information with relative ease. Just delete it, and from that point on, no one will be able to access it through PlanetDo.com.

Children under age 13

If you are under age 13, we sincerely thank you for your interest in PlanetDo.com, but governmental rules prohibit us from allowing you on our site. Please check back on your 13th birthday (you could make it a rite of passage with a party and everything), but do not attempt to register for PlanetDo.com or provide any personal information about yourself to us before then. If we learn that personal information from a child under age 13 has been provided to us, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from a child under age 13, please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Parents

Kids, even if you are 13 years of age or older, be sure to ask your parents for permission before sending any information about yourself to anyone over the Internet whether through PlanetDo.com or anywhere else. Parents, we strongly encourage you to teach your children about practicing safe internet practices. If you need some help, we suggest http://www.staysafeonline.org.

Deceased Doers

If we are notified that a Doer is deceased, we may either assign the user’s account log-in credentials to the lawful representative of the estate of the Doer, or we may close the account or take other action that we deem appropriate. Please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you need to report the death of a Doer.

Content

What sets PlanetDo.com apart from the rest of the Internet is the content provided by our Doers. What keeps us out of court is Doers providing only content that they own and not violating the copyrights, trademarks, privacy, or security of third parties. By uploading any information to the PlanetDo.com website, you agree to the terms of service with respect to that content. Further, any metadata that you do not wish to be shared on PlanetDo.com must be removed before uploading the content (such as pictures videos, etc), as our systems will not remove it for you.

Personal Safety

We rely on you to make good decisions about the information you share online. If you are not sure what personal threats are out there, we suggest getting educated by visiting http://www.staysafeonline.org. At the very least, you should understand that, while sharing certain information such as your location through PlanetDo.com is subject to your privacy settings, you may still be putting yourself or your property at risk. (For example, posting that you will be hiking in the Andes for a month might provide a window of opportunity for folks inclined to break into your house during your absence and dance with your stuffed animal collection.) If we offer a service that supports an automatic or similar service to share your location with others, we will not enroll you without you specifically asking us to do so.

PlanetDo Activities

We store information about certain actions you take on PlanetDo.com, such as adding content, joining a group or an event, attending an event, visiting one of our advertisers or sponsors, etc.

Information from other Websites

Our sponsors and advertisers may share information regarding the effectiveness of their ads or sponsorship of our site, commonly known as “conversion tracking.” We may also get similar information that you have provided to other websites where we advertise.

Information from other Doers

Other Doers may provide us with information about you, such as identifying you in a photo or video or indicating a relationship with you.

Anonymous Information

In general, when you visit PlanetDo.com without actively identifying who you are or revealing any information about yourself, the information collected online can generally be categorized as anonymous information that cannot be connected to the identity of a specific individual. An example of anonymous information is the fact that, while PlanetDo.com may record the number of visits to a particular page that occur in a given period of time, it does not necessarily tell us the names or other identifying information of every visitor. Many users of PlanetDo.com will choose to remain anonymous to us, and any data collected about their use of PlanetDo.com is anonymous information.

Automatic Anonymous Information

When you visit PlanetDo.com, we collect certain technical and routing information about your computer. For example, we log environmental variables such as browser type, operating system and CPU speed, and the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your originating Internet Service Provider, to try to bring you the best possible service. We also record search requests and results to try to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our search engine. We use your IP address to track your use of PlanetDo.com, including pages visited and the time spent on each page. We collect this information and use it to measure the use of PlanetDo.com and to improve its content and performance. All of the information that is automatically submitted to us by your browser is considered anonymous information. To the extent we share such information with third parties, it is not traceable to any particular user and will not be used to contact you.

Third parties that link on PlanetDo.com may use cookies or collect other information when you go to their site. We do not control the collection or use of your information by these companies. You should contact these companies directly if you have any questions about their collection or use of information about you.

Transfer of Customer Information

Customer lists and information are properly considered assets of a business. Accordingly, if we merge with another entity, are purchased by another entity or if we sell our assets to another entity, our customer lists and information, including personally identifiable information you and other Doers have provided us, would be included among the assets that would be transferred.

One Last Thing

There really is no one last thing. Just wanted to see if you were still paying attention. Thanks for reading our privacy policy. You’re obviously a special and talented individual regardless of whether your mother appreciates your ability to huck it off a cliff.
